CENTRAL DALMATIA

CENTRAL DALMATIA is a very attractive sailing area. The focus of the area is SPLIT, the largest Croatian town on the central coast and the city of great historical heritage where Diocletian’s Palace is also located.

Not far from SPLIT is the old Roman city of SALONA. Just a little further, about 20 km is the historic town of TROGIR (on the UNESCO list). There are several marinas in this area that are an excellent starting point for sailing the CENTRAL DALMATIAN islands. Also the SPLIT airport is near all these marinas – about 10 km

The first destinations as you sail are the islands of ŠOLTA, DRVENIK, islands of true Mediterranean charm where the atmosphere is quite relaxing. Then BRAČ is one of the largest Croatian islands known for the ZLATNI RAT beach. The island of BRAČ also abounds in places of authentic character.

Slightly south of BRAČ lies HVAR, the most visited Croatian island. It is also called sunny HVAR due to the large number of sunny days. HVAR is also a city of rich history and is characterized by its beautiful architecture as well as the beautiful nature. In addition, HVAR is also known as a destination for good entertainment.

In the immediate vicinity, slightly south of HVAR, there are the PAKLENI islands, a group of 20 islands, islets and cliffs that are worth visiting.

To the southwest of HVAR lies the island of VIS with two authentic places of interest. An island of peculiar beauty. Historically it was a military base and was banned for tourists until 1991.

From VIS you should also visit the island of BIŠEVO known for its cave and sandy beaches.
